As a sophomore he rushed the ball 107 times for 811 yards and scored six touchdowns. King also caught 11 passes for 133 yards and 2 scores. Defensively he recorded 26 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions. As a junior, King rushed the ball 211 times from 1,763 yards (8.3 ypc) and scored 31 TDs. Defensively he registered 30 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries and 3 picks.
King, 5-11 and 180 pounds, is a true 4.4 forty guy. He has blazing speed and even better quickness. He plays running back and cornerback at the high school level and projects as a cover corner at the next level. King has got to be one of the fastest and quickest prospects in the country. I didn't see DeAngelo Hall (VT and Atlanta Falcons) play in high school but this is the type of player he must have been.
As a running back King has good vision and once he gets in space he's deadly with the football. He has a great burst or another gear. Lots of players with speed have this but not as much as King. He's not afraid to take it between the tackles and power his way through the second and third line of defense. He shows excellent vision and great hands. He could play running back or wide receiver at the next level or perhaps he eventually plays both ways. I think this kid could be that special.
I didn't see nearly as much footage of King on defense but what I did see was an aggressive CB with great closing speed and he played with aggression.
