Earlier today I had the opportunity to watch four games films of Granger and his Kimball teammates from last season. He appears to be at his best when he keeps things simple… with just a bull rush. At this level, he just overpowers offensive lineman and can find the ball and get to the quarterback. That's what he does best right now.
But Granger has terrific upside because he has good athletic skills, he's strong, raw and has tremendous upside.
"There's been much debate about who's the state's top defensive tackle," said Stacey Dean, TheInsiders.com/ Big 12 Recruiting Analyst. "Make no mistake, DeMarcus Granger, a legit 6-2.5 and 320 pounder, offering plenty in the size and strength department belongs in that agrument. The Kimball DT shows the ability to dominate the opposition at times, especially when fresh. Ideally, Granger would even be more dominating if he was in the 300-pound range. That would give him much more quickness and that would allow him to stay effective for longer periods of time. Right now, I have him sitting in the elite neighborhood as a top five prospect in the Lone Star State."
